***PLEASE STOP AND READ THIS BEFORE CONTINUING!!!***

We are a small rescue located in the Bay Area of California - we service Fremont, Newark, Union City, and Hayward. Please do not fill out voucher requests for areas outside of these locations. We do not work with vets in your areas. Instead, see our resources page for more information on other spay/neuter resources.

For Low Cost Spay Neuter vouchers, please fill out a referral form here.

For Feral Cat Assistance, please fill out a referral form here.

I found a kitten, will you take it? I found a kitten, will you take it?

Purrfect Cat Rescue is dedicated to finding homes for abandoned and stray cats and kittens in the Tri-City area. To that end, we can only take in cats from residents in Fremont, Newark and Union City. Please see our resource page for other Rescues and Shelters outside of this area.

In order to help as many animals as possible, we have established some guidelines for the intake of animals:

Strays

  1. You are required to pay for the Combo FeLV/FIV test for the animal(s). In litters, just one sibling or the momma cat needs to be tested. The fee for this test is $27.50. This fee can be made payable directly to our vet (non tax deductbile), or payable directly to us (tax deductible).
  2. Once the test is done you have the option of fostering the cat(s) until they are adopted, or releasing them to our program to be placed with a foster home.
  3. If you choose to foster yourself, we will provide you with food, litter, and vet care, including shots, spay or neuter, and flea control. You will be responsible for bringing the cat(s) to our mobile adoptions until they are adopted out.

Owner Assist

Owner Assist is when you have an animal that you need to re-home. Purrfect Cat Rescue can assist you in the following ways:

  1. Provide you with space when available at our Mobile Adoptions to showcase your cat(s).
  2. Add your cat(s) to our website and to Petfinder.com
  3. Cat(s) must be combo tested, up to date on shots, spayed/neutered and in good health. We will require a letter from your vet with this information.
  4. You will continue to house your cat(s) until they are re-homed.
  5. Provided cat(s) are up to date on shots and spayed/neutered there is no fee for Owner Assisted re-homing.

Owner Surrender

Owner Surrender is when you have an animal that you can no longer keep and need to re-home but have run out of time/options. Purrfect Cat Rescue can assist you in the following ways:

  1. Foster your cat(s) until they can be re-homed.
  2. Cat(s) must be combo tested, up to date on shots,  spayed/neutered and in good health. We will require a letter from your vet with this information.
  3. If any of the above mentioned items are not true, the owner must pay for those services to be completed.
  4. There is a $35 fee for Owner Surrenders to assist in the cost of expenses while Purrfect Cat Rescue fosters your cat(s).

Ferals Ferals

Purrfect Cat Rescue in conjunction with other organizations has launched a formal feral cat program. We can assist you in the following ways:

  1. When available, lend traps to assist you in trapping the feral(s) you would like to get altered.
  2. Provide you with low cost spay/neuter vouchers with a participating facility. You would pay that facility directly in cash and will have to transport your own ferals to the clinic.
  3. When available, provide you with a spot at a no cost spay/neuter clinic. You must arrange transportation yourself or with one of our feral coordinators. **Note, these clinics are not always offered, and we don't always have spots available, so these spots will be given at the discretion of our feral coordinator(s)
  4. Education on maintaining a feral cat colony. Once altered, your feral must be released where it was trapped.

You may fill out our referral form here  and our feral cat coordinator will be in touch.
