Niko

I've been wanted to write you to tell how much I love my adopted kitty and how well he's doing. He was fostered by Suellen, formerly named Cruiser, found at the Tesla Motors plant. I've named him Niko after Nikola Tesla. He's a doll. I've had him about 7 weeks now and he's quite at home as you can tell by the photos. He's also my favorite photography subject. He's about 6.5 lbs now and very happy, healthy, beautiful...and amazing at fetching. Often brings his mice toys to me in the middle of the night. Suellen did an amazing job socializing him. I am so lucky to have found Niko. He's even taken a trip to visit my 86 year old mom down in Paso Robles (a 3 hour car trip). She loves him too. I'm hoping he'll get more used to the car since I travel down there often. He didn't make one peep on the way home last time. Thank you so much for the incredibly kind work you do. -Kimberly M

Barney

On August 22, 2009, my daughter and I walked into Petco in Union City to try to find aquarium rocks. When we walked up, I saw the sign that there were cat adoptions going on, but didn't think twice. After all, we already HAD a cat! My daughter (age 5) wanted to see "all the kitties" so we walked over and looked at them. Most were asleep except for one precocious orange tabby who was loving up on a woman who I later learned was one of your volunteers. Long story short. After going through the store (and looking at the kitties one more time), we left. We got buckled in, car started and in reverse, when I turned to my daughter and said "Do we need to bring that kitty home with us?" Before I could get the car in park and the engine turned off, she was unbuckled and in the front seat trying to crawl over me and out the door. :) Back into Petco we went, and about 20 minute, a check, and some paperwork later, Barney was mewing in his box on the floor of the passenger seat in the front of my car and on his way home with us. After a few days of getting used to the sounds of the house (and letting the cats get curious about each other's scent), Barney was given full run of the house. Princess (our first cat) set the record straight once or twice about who was Alpha cat, but they can now regularly be found sleeping side-by-side on the bed, in the cat trees, and on window sills. My daughter is diligent about making sure there is food and water in the bowls, and can be found most times playing with him with his strings, feathers, and jingle/crinkle balls. Barney is definitely an ornery cat, and we ADORE him. He has been a most fun addition to our household, and is wonderful with both the kids and has brought out the inner kitten in Princess (she's 9 years old). I'm so glad something compelled me to not be able to walk away from Barney. And I'm glad there are organizations such as yours that care enough to look out for stray/abandoned cats and help them find homes. Attached is a photo of my daughter with Barney that I took over the weekend. He crawled up next to her while she was watching a DVD. :) Thanks so much for helping bring Barney into our lives. Jane

Sasha

Sasha was adopted at 7 months from Pet Club in Hayward. Her outgoing, affectionate personality stole the heart of her future cat mom. Ironically, her foster home was located within miles of her new home in Fremont. Sasha enjoys sunning and napping on her cat tree, eating snacks, and snuggling during movie time, and playing "wrestler" with her adoptive cat sis Pheobe. Thank you for a wonderful addition to our lives!

Smudge's first Christmas!

Luci

I took Luci in as a foster. When I first got him, we were sure he was a girl he was so fluffy and cute, but skin and bones. Once we got him all cleaned up and fattened up, he had made such an impression on the family that I just had to keep him. He's my sexy beast!

Dano

We adopted a cat about 2 and a half months ago. The first month he was really scared, but the second month he has really been loving. He really likes to sleep with us. I forgot to say his name - it was Dano when we got him, but we changed it to Oreo because he is a black and white tabby. We really love him and are taking good care of him, so here is his first Christmas.

Jasmine

We just wanted to drop a note and tell you how she's doing. She's a wonderful, beautiful babe, and we're SOOO happy to have her in our family!!! Yoda ADORES her, they spend all day and night playing and sleeping together, and we often wake up to the sounds of them bouncing off walls and the kitty towers as they chase each other around the house. She's gotten almost as big as him!! She also likes to sprawl across my foot when I'm sitting at my computer, and go to sleep. If I shift my foot even slightly, she goes "mrrp!!" and shifts around to be fully on the foot, so I have to sit motionless for an hour or two until she wanders off! Everyone should have such problems...+ She has brought SO much beauty and pleasure into our lives!! It's hard to remember what life was like without her. And we want to thank you for recommending us to her, you pegged us perfectly, we can't thank you enough!!
